eServices for energy efficient operations Descriptions of main user scenarios per eService and improvements made within project activities. |
The eService is aimed at optimising transport and logistics activities, increasing the competitiveness of SMEs in their local systems, sustaining the environment and preserving regional territories through formation of an EU operative ICT network of logistics brokers. The main actor in Transport Consolidation is the Logistic Broker, who is not acting as a new logistic operator but as an intermediary subject between manufacturing companies and transport providers. A network platform enables the Broker to organise the transport demand, assist manufacturing companies by planning efficient transportation solutions and to develop economy of scale.

The eService is aimed at providing SME associations with innovative ICT solutions to move the associated companies, especially those working in the service sector or as subcontractors of larger companies, from a situation where they compete with each other to survive, towards a vital and rational business environment where collaborations are frequent and dynamic, and companies remain independent and autonomous but contribute all together to the evolution of their ecosystem as a whole.
Opening the business ecosystems to the widest electronic market is also useful for achieving higher business objectives. Today the market of services is typically local but new business opportunities could be exploited e.g. by offering technical assistance in the region to a foreign machine tool vendor or offering an integrated bundle of textile services to external buyers.

Using the data capture platform user can manage the invoices to send and the invoices received from a supplier. The data capture technology guarantees automatic transformation of the exchanged invoices in terms of format conversion. The PDF files without a pre-defined data model [unstructured] are transformed into a working format and then in one or more structured outputs (like an XML file), including index for digital archiving, so as to enable document dematerialization.
